Walking In A Winter Wonderland~In Missouri

"Kansas City Plaza, at Christmas, Missouri" Photographic Print
We truly are walking in a winter wonderland today here in Missouri. Today was our first snow~I just love the first snow!
I have been a bit busy this morning. I have been preparing for another speaking engagement for our Farming On Faith~Frugal but Fancy Journey. I can't wait to spend the evening with you ladies at Wathena Baptist Church tonight!
I will be posting week # 3 Christmas planning tomorrow. Stay tuned!
 Have a wonderful afternoon!

Ok, I ran to the window as soon as I saw your post. No snow here yet! Just rain. rain. rain. At least the snow would be prettier :) -Tammy

Good morning from Australia Carrie! You have snow - and we are experiencing a heatwave! I too, have a speaking engagement today! I'm off to a Mothers of Pre-schoolers group at a church in the city this morning to do a presentation on making Christmas crackers. I'm also taking along my wreaths to display - I've just put up a post on inspiration for wreaths at my Christmas blog. I will be thinking of you and praying for you as you go and speak to your church group. Please pray for me - this playgroup attracts many women from outside the church.

Snow...how fun. Snow always makes the Holidays feel a bit more merry. I wish we had snow here in Pennsylvania. Can you believe it was 75 on Saturday? Rather strange weather for this time of year!
Love the photo.

I love all your Chritmas-y photos...it's getting me into the "mood"...I even feel like decorating the house and that is usually not something I do this early! :) I bet you can hardly wait for your new little grandbaby to be born...not long now!

Blessings,

Homemade Laundry Soap

Homemade Laundry Soap
1 bar of soap ( I use Fels Naphtha or Dove)I like Dove best!
1 cup washing soda
1/2 cup Borax
5 gallon container
few drops of essential oil if desired ~I use Downy scent

1. grate the bar of soap
2. melt the soap in 4 cups of water~keep stirring until melted
3. fill 5 gallon bucket half full with hot water
4. add melted mixture, soda, and borax
5. fill to the top with more hot water
6. stir~let sit for 24 hours then stir again
It will take 3 or 4 days to thicken. I stir it each day!

This then makes 5 gallons of Laundry soap for about $2.00!

Fabric Softener Recipe

It is just as good as Downy~I promise.
Give it a try~I think you will be pleased!

1 cup vinegar
2 cups hair conditioner  ( I like Suave Wild Cherry Blossom)
6 cups of water
4-5 drops of Downy essential oil

Mix all this together. You may use this like any other Fabric Softener.

If you prefer dryer sheets you can try this~I diluted this down with water~ 3 parts water, 1 part softener. I then poured it into this glass container.  Next I added  sponges.  For each load~ wring out the sponge and add to the dryer as you would fabric sheets.  I added a few drops of  Downy scent!  Smells wonderful!
