I Am Having An Amish Book Giveaway~ Paradise Valley Book

I am so excited to turn the page on the month of May~it is my favorite month of all. I am downright giddy! The sun is shining~blue sky days are ahead and everything is blooming~woo hoo. There is so much to look forward to. Tomorrow I will be turning another year better~tee hee. Mother's day is coming, Caleb has a birthday, Hannah has a birthday. I have a trip to Boston and throw in all the graduation and Memorial Day celebrations~it is a month long celebration at our home for sure.  In celebration of the Merry Month of May~ I am having a give-a-way.  Guess what I am giving away?
Oh Boy~ you don't want to miss this book!
    Paradise Valley
    Inspired by Actual Events

Well let me tell you~ this is an Amish book I will never forget. After awhile they all run together in my mind and I forget who belongs to what series~not the case with this one. This Amish book is like none I have ever read. It is inspired by actual events. In the 1920's the state of Ohio demanded that the Amish put their children in Public Education. When they did not~ due to their religious beliefs the authorities came and placed the fathers in jail and took the children and placed them in foster homes. My heart was broken when I read of the things they said to them and did to them~as if they were ignorant. The families were only reunited when the fathers agreed to put them in Public School~after all the damage that was being done to them was far greater.

One brave man decided to buy land in Mexico and move his family where he could raise his family as he felt God had called him to do. The book drags a bit in the beginning but once they move to Mexico ~it becomes alive. I could not put it down. Imagine Mexico in 1920~they faced some unusual battles as you can imagine. I loved this book!

The story has many twist and turns. Rachel must leave behind the love of her life Jacob. Many of the families decide not to follow after the Bender family reported about the bandits who almost killed them. Will she ever see her love again?

In an unfamiliar land where the government will no longer dictate how Caleb Bender raises his family ~has he just made the biggest mistake of his life? He must wrestle with the demands of his own faith to finally come to terms that love has its own demands.

    I give this book a 10 out of 10!

HERE IS WHAT YOU DO TO ENTER~ IT IS SIMPLE!!

    1. Leave me a comment telling me what you will celebrate this Merry Month of May = 1 entry.

    2. Become a follower of Farming On Faith= 1 entry.

    3. Share my give-a-way on your blog = 1 entry

Now see I am a simple girl~ you have three chances to win this wonderful book.

Hurry~ I will draw a winner on May 20th~ hope you win.

"I would do a great many things for you." Even at sixteen, Jake's handsome features hold the calm certainty and patient confidence of a man, and Rachel Bender knows--Jake Weaver is the one.
Rachel will grow into a strong young woman with powerful gifts—but in a faraway country, without her Jake. In 1921, Ohio's new law forces Caleb Bender's family to seek sanctuary in the wilds of Mexico where the government will not interfere with their Amish way of life, or take their children from them. Nor will it protect them from the bandits terrorizing the countryside.
In an unfamiliar land where no one speaks their language or knows their ways, the Benders establish a homestead in exile. Sisters Emma, Rachel, and Miriam find strengths unimagined, gifts unexpected, and yearning beyond their deepest dreams. Even steadfast Caleb is compelled to wrestle with the demands of faith, only to discover that love has its own demands.
Paradise Valley—a tale of love, danger, and redeeming faith.

    1. Hi Carrie, Loved reading this post because although I read every Amish series I can get my hands on, I have not read this one. May madness-huh, well my dear hubby goes on an annual golf trip each May which means I can garden to my hearts content. Also, this year, my brother and s-i-l are coming for a visit at the end of the month. Generally though May just means blue skies(we haven't had those yet), lots of outdoor time and new flowers.
I'm a follower too, so please enter me twice.
      Blessings, Noreen

    7. May means warm, comfortable, sunny days before the heat of summer days set in. My roses are blooming and I'm planting flowers around my yard. It's the month where I spend a lot of days outside enjoying my yard.

I love reading books about the Amish. One of my favorite authors is Anna Schmidt and she just came out with a book about an Amish girl named Hannah. I have not read the book you are giving away but I would like to! :0)

Enjoy the month of May, Carrie!
