Beyond Molasses Creek~ Book Review

I have to be honest ~ when I started reading this book I had a hard time getting into the story. The story went back and forth between three characters. As I began to read I realized that these three lives were bound in this one book~yet they were all somehow linked to Molasses Creek.

This is the first time I have read a book from Nicole and she is a deep writer. She causes one to pause and think about the road ahead.

I kept reading and as the story unfolded I begin to see how each life was somehow related to the other~ all entwined and tangled together by this charming place called Molasses Creek.

Ally Green wanted to leave Molasses Creek and see the world.  Only when her father passed away she must return to her home. Vesey Washington still lives across the creek from her parent's home. It is a very complicated relationship. As children they were best of friends. As adults~ he is the reason she has stayed away so long.

Versey is a wise man who has never had the chance for an education yet self learned he has much to offer.  Everything he says and does makes one stop and think and see the importance of life. He is a man full of wisdom.

All the while a young woman clear across the world escapes her life of slavery in the rock quarries of Nepal.  At this point I am wondering what in the world has this young girl have to do with Ally. I soon became so interested to find out how these two woman fit together and I never dreamed how it would end up. I could not put the book down until I found it.

This book causes much reflection and makes one thankful for the world we live in today.

On the banks of Molasses Creek these three souls find a destiny of freedom~ faith and friendship. I was pleasantly surprised at just how this story ends. I really enjoyed it.

This book was provided by me from Litfuse~ for my honest review. I give this book 4 stars.
