Yep~ we are so excited! Today we find out if our new baby is a girl or a boy. Boston is sure it is a boy. When asked what if it's a girl he states, " We don't need a gurl." Grammy has a sneaky suspicion it is a girl~ but I will stand to be corrected. We will all be overjoyed either way. What a blessing! Grandbabies make the world go around!
I have my ticket for a visit next month. I am so excited! Can't wait to smooch this little face.

Gratitude Turns What We Have Into Enough
Yesterday~ I watched Fox News show just how the flu germ spreads up to 12 feet away from a sick person. I begin to think that it is a wonder we are not all sick. Fox News had a dummy cough and you could see the cough particles fly all over Steve Doocy. It spread over the entire room~ even in his coffee. As Boston would say, "Eww grossy."
There is something else that spreads just as bad as flu germs that spews all over others. It is grumbling and complaining. I don't ever really remember being deathly sick with the flu but I do know how being around someone who is constantly grumbling, complaining and murmuring is contagious. It is deathly to the spirit.
I read a devotion~ about this very topic~ this morning in my email from Girlfriends in God. Sharon Jaynes said it like this~
"I wonder if that’s what happened in the wilderness as the Israelites made one more trek around Mount Sinai. “I’m sick of this manna,” one complained. Then another looked at God’s sweet provision and said, “Come to think of it, I’m sick of it too.” The next thing you know the sea of ingrates becomes a tidal wave of grumblers and God sends them on another lap around the wilderness and places a “Do Not Enter” sign in front of the Promised Land." -----Sharon Jaynes
Deuteronomy 1:35-36
35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers.
36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the Lord.
They never entered the Promised Land because of their ingratitude. That is a pretty serious consequence~ don't you think.
36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the Lord.
They never entered the Promised Land because of their ingratitude. That is a pretty serious consequence~ don't you think.
It truly is the most ungrateful action we can do. We are saying, " God I know that You are running things BUT~ I think I can do better." There is nobody more unhappy than an ungrateful person.
Is there someone you can think of that you try to avoid because you know you will hear the latest ailment, gossip, criticism or the latest obituary report? You try to cheer them up reminding them of all the blessings in their life. Or at least with ," You know even those hard times in life make life even sweeter with the Lord." Nothing seems to work. These kinds of people are pure negative drains with no joy. When they spew out this kind of ingratitude ~ it not only robs them of their joy but it robs all those that are in the line of splatter.
I am going to quote Sharon one last time~I could not have said it better.
"Today, make a commitment to turn your grumbling to grateful, your complaining into contentment, and your whining (did I just say that…yes I did) into praising God!"--Sharon Jaynes
I want to be a thankful person. I have more than I deserve. How about you?

A new GRAND baby, how exciting!!! I have 5 and hope for more!!
Well said! Be careful or you will get what you grumble for....the children of Isreal..not happy with manna...grumbling an complaining...God gives them what they ask for..."then I will give you meat until it comes out of your nostrils"....after days of rottening meat and too much meat...manna is not to bad... You are so right...grumbling and complaining has a way of spreading...Lord, help me to appreciate what I have...Congrats on the new Grand. Nothing like them... Great post.. Blessings and thanks for your faithfulness to the Word!

Hi Carrie, What a blessing for all of you. A sweet inheritance from the Lord! I thank you for the words of this post. I think sometimes we don't even realize we are complaining.
Yet, when I do I can sense that nudge of the Spirit, and I stop and ask for forgivness.
Today was one of those days for me! I thank the Lord for His grace ,I really neede it.
Thanks for helping me in the bloggers land!
