Life Can Be Hard

1 Thessalonians 5:17

 Pray without ceasing.

A good bubble bath is what I need when the going gets tough. It recharges my batteries. It is one of my greatest power sources. Life can be hard!

I do have a real power source!  Over the past few years, my life has changed dramatically. I have witnessed the Lord move in some amazing ways. I have felt His hand in my life like never before.

There was a time in my life that I was paralyzed by fear. It is something that rooted deep in my soul as a child of an alcoholic father. It was an area in my life I just could not get victory over. Even though I had been walking with the Lord for many years I was fighting fear. I was so disappointed in myself. The littlest of things would ignite a spark that would leave me feeling so fearful. Even talking about it now makes me sad.

I have found victory over the spirit of fear.  The breakthrough came when I decided to start praying like never before.  As I begin to pray earnestly it was then that my faith increased. As I entered into a closer relationship with God I became confident that God was on the throne. He was in control and I could trust Him. Even if the sky falls I know that I can trust Him. As I began to pray about EVERYTHING the power of fear was replaced by faith.

Martin Luther said, "As it is the business of tailors to make clothes, and of cobblers to mend shoes, so it is the business of Christians to pray." Prayer moves the hand of God.

I don't know about you but I need the power of God in my life. The very Power Source that moves the world on its orbit can also remove fear and give us faith in its place.  We get to go to Him and put all our troubles and trials on His shoulders and leave them there.

That is reason enough to celebrate on this beautiful Summer day.

Truly....we need Him for every breath we take! I love Psalm 46 for encouragement when we are fearful...it's so wonderful to rest our hearts in our Saviour. How precious He is! Hugs, Camille

I have had days where I feel powerless because of fear. I, too, find that prayer helps tremendously. Have a great weekend!

This is so true. So many times we think "I don't know what else to do so I'll pray." PRAYING NEEDS TO BE OUR FIRST THOUGHT! We are to pray without ceasing. That means pray about everything! Thank you for reminding me!!
