What if God gave you as much grace as you give others? That is my question I have been pondering all week.
We have become such a critical people. I heard this from Beth Moore ~ wish it was mine but it's not. "A critic is one who wants change but a bully is one who wants you to quit." Think about that for a second. When we pick at other's faults are we truly wanting to help them or get them to quit and fall by the wayside?
We live in a world that photo edits all of life. We crop~ chop ~spit and polish it all to look perfect but the fact of the matter is ~it is only an illusion. People are not perfect. They are going to mess up. I am going to mess up. You are going to mess up.
Our perfectionism has made us a critical people to the point that we bully others. In the church, it is no different. We try to manipulate and bully others to go along with our agenda. Our controlling spirits harm others. I admit I struggle with perfectionism but I never want to be always nit picking at others.
Let us turn the tables here for a minute. Can you imagine with me just how a perfect God must look at each and every one of us? He has to endure with each and every one of us. Does He throw the Book at us? No~ He offers grace and mercy to all who will receive it.
Maybe we should show the same acceptance ~ patience, and love that He bestows on us to our family, friends and even our church.
