Black Beans and Rice Recipe~




This one is so yummy you won't know it is so very good for you and your heart. 


1 teaspoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup  cooked rice (brown or white)
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
1 teaspoon fresh parsley
salt and pepper to taste


Brown onion and garlic in olive oil.
Add cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper, cumin, and rice.
Mix it all well.
Stir in black beans and cook until completely warm.

*It is very yummy served with fish.*


Christmas In July~ Homemade Bubble Bath


Am I the only one that is loving Hallmark's Christmas In July week?  I have been watching the craft and ideas and it has inspired me to get started on my homemade gifts.  Homemade gifts are the best.  Starting now will give me plenty of time to get them done leaving December to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas without all that stress.  I have no pictures just yet because I need to find some pretty jars. What a great teacher gift idea.


2 cups  Ivory dish soap (unscented)
10-15 drops of essential oil

Mix ingredients. Let stand for 1 week. Use 1/4 cup per bath.
