The Joy of Letting Go ~ Book Review

I think one of the most difficult things in life for me has been knowing when and how to let go of my children. I remember at times that I felt I could not breathe.

This book is an amazing resource for parents of all ages and especially parents of teens. This devotional contains 52 devotions. I enjoyed reading it each day but it also can be used as a weekly study. We tend to want to hold on to our children forever but that is not God's plan. We are raising them to leave from the moment they enter this world. We need wisdom and direction from God each and every step along the way.  This book offers sound advice and is a wonderful resource.

This is a book that every parent of a teenager needs to read. I highly recommend this book.

Upon A Spring Breeze~ Amish Book Review

What a fun read for Spring. The setting of this book is Jamesport, MO which I totally loved. This Missouri girl has spent many of my favorite days in this little Amish town.

Bess has a hard row to hoe. Her childhood sweetheart and husband was killed in an accident and lost his life on an icy road when his buggy was hit by a truck. Her Caleb was killed before he could meet his unborn son. Bess must not only give birth to a child without Caleb but she must find a way to have joy again.   She is stuck living with her cantankerous mother-in-law. To make matters worse after suffering such a huge loss, she doesn't know why she wants to escape her new baby who looks just like his dad.

Bess decides to take a job at a B and B working as a housekeeper. It was the best escape she could find that was acceptable for an Amish woman.

This book is filled with tons of emotion and suspense. I loved this book and so enjoyed reading each and every word. I recommend that you add this one to your summer reading list.
