Occasionally I would see one of them 'drag a wing' and know I best not pick him up at that time.. but all in all, they were little gentlemen :) So far, my new little rooster is as sweet as pie, and I'm looking forward to his hearty crow someday soon ;) That being said, you can feel free to laugh if I happen to mention something in the future about a "mean rooster." <br />Have a wonderful day with Billie.. it really sounds like fun!-TammyFlat Creek Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13628767205698280033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790575783281900923.post-29549153798220339562010-07-02T08:47:46.960-05:002010-07-02T08:47:46.960-05:00Yes some times hens do that, I think it is called ...Yes some times hens do that, I think it is called moating, they are ready to nest and they start sitting on the eggs, they are not smart enough to know there is not rooster to fertilize them, heehee, hens are like women, they love making a home an nest for their family, heehee, bless you my friend, and enjoy your hens, I do not have roosters either, mine were not mean, they just kept my poor hens picked raw, so none here..Hugs and have a blessed weekend.Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09800203244324984782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790575783281900923.post-75186488426086420502010-07-02T08:22:24.596-05:002010-07-02T08:22:24.596-05:00I love hearing about your chickens. (There's really nothing trashy about the women who formed this group. They are all servants of God and they are a tremendous blessing in my life). I hope that you and your family have a fabulous 4th of July weekend and that you are all covered in God's grace.Shelleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12752658464447522549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790575783281900923.post-49841269384828335632010-07-02T07:07:33.097-05:002010-07-02T07:07:33.097-05:00Mae Mae my 3 year old loved looking at the rooster...Mae Mae my 3 year old loved looking at the rooster.
