Keep Christ In Christmas~

"Christmas Chapel Model, Bavaria, Germany" Photographic Print

art.com

I've received this before, and still love the idea.

Pass this on to your church, co-workers, family, and friends

What do you have to lose but 44 cents, what do you have to gain ----------- more than you will ever know.

A clever idea!

Yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early so that you can get ready to include an important address to your list.
Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world..

Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it and "In God We Trust".

Here's the address, just don't be rude or crude. (It's not the Christian way, you know.)

ACLU
125 Broad Street
18th Floor
New York , NY 10004

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them
that there is no such thing as a " Holiday Tree". . . It's always been called a CHRISTMAS TREE!

And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate with the ACLU! They really DESERVE us!!

For those of you who aren't aware of them, the ACLU, (the American Civil Liberties Union) is the one suing the U.S. Government to take God, Christmas or anything Christian away from us. They represent the atheists and others in this war.

FIGHT BACK!!!!  Help put Christ back in Christmas!

How To Keep The Holidays Stressless~

"The Discovery" <span class=
art.com

I am planning to keep this Christmas stress free~ Plan the work and work the plan!

  • When you ask family members to share their favorite Christmas memory. You might be surprised how few meals and toys they mention. Most people remember the memories. Toys get broken, but a memory lasts forever.
  • Remember what really matters. Family and your own home should come first. Everything else should come second to your special place~your Home. The hassles can take care of themselves.
  • A handmade gift is more special than a bought gift.
  • It is really okay to say NO! We would  like to do it all, be everywhere, and see everything. We need time together as a family!
  • Plan some time for yourself. You can read a book, listen to music, take a bubble bath by candlelight, get a hair cut, polish your nails, buy yourself a new nightgown. Take a moment to plan what you will wear for Christmas. By taking care of yourself you will avoid the last minute hassle about your appearance.
  • Watch your spending carefully. For many years I found myself in debt trying to create the perfect Christmas~only to regret it January 1st when the bills rolled in. Talk about tension and depression! Overspending will do it! Give yourself the gift of NO DEBT this year. You will be so glad you did!
  • Remember Christmas will come even if the "To Do List" isn't totally finished. Celebrate family, friends, and above all, the true meaning of Christmas!

Christmas Week # 3 Planner~

"Christmas Window" Print
 Photo~art.com
If you are new to my blog~ let me explain! I am getting all of Christmas wrapped up in four weeks because I am flying out to be with my daughter as she delivers my new grandson. I normally take about 3 months to get it all done. I have started some new business adventures that have kept me so busy I have not had time to prepare for Christmas. One of the things I do is shop all year long when I see great buys so I have a gift pantry ~which is going to help greatly.

Week # 3 ~ Christmas Planning
  • *Take my Gift List and SHOP,SHOP,SHOP!!
  • *Set up a wrapping station~this is one of the smartest ideas I have ever come up with! It makes it easy to keep up as you shop. I set mine with a pretty tablecloth, baskets of tape, ribbon, paper and bows.
  • * Recheck my pantry for Holiday Baking. This will be a great sale week for stocking up!
  • * Prepare several freezer meals for the busy weeks before Christmas.
  • * Hit anything not completed from last week~which happens to be our Christmas cards.
  • * Get Stocking Stuffers

Heap the holly! Wreath the pine!
Train the dainty Christmas vine~
Let the breath of fir and bay
Mingle on the festal day.

Funnel Cakes~Frugal Gift Idea

* I love to bake for Christmas! I bake the whole month~to give away to friends and family. Of course we have a nibble or two along the way in the Shindorf household! Yum~I am dreaming of fudge. I love chocolate fudge with a glass of ice cold milk.  This year with my trip I am simplifying Christmas. I will be gone half of the month falling in love with my new grandson so I am making mixes to give away instead of all my baking. The great thing about giving a nice mix is~ during the Christmas rush we have so many goodies. A mix can be used after the season during those long months of winter. It is a nice treat to look forward to.
I thought this Funnel Cake would be wonderful! ~And so cute in a nice bag with a funnel attached!

1 cup of sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cinnamon

In a bowl mix all dry ingredients. Store in an airtight container.

*ATTACH THIS NOTE*

Funnel Cake
1 egg

How To Paint A Window~ Frugal Gift Idea

You can pick up old frames for next to nothing or free often times.
Painted windows can be such a nice gift for pennies.
Decorate them in any style you wish.
This one is hanging in my booth for sale.

1. Sand frame.
2. Take newspaper and masking tape~ cover all the glass.
3. Spray paint frame~remove newspaper.
4. Paint the design you want. You can print images from the computer and  tape them to the back for an easy way to paint if you do not like to draw. This is great for sayings. I use cheap Apple Barrel Paints.
5. When you finish with your painting~let it dry. Then coat it with a clear spray paint. I give it about 5 coats ~letting it dry between coats. This is the time to add sprinkles and glitter if you wish. This will seal it and keep the paint from pealing off~works like a charm.
6. Place 2 sturdy screws on the back with heavy wire for hanging.

This one hangs in my house.

I'm Walking On Sunshine~A Day With The Amish

Woo~hoo~ I woke up on the right side of the bed! I am walking on sunshine today! I am so excited!! Can you tell? I am heading to Jamesport , Mo~(Amish Country) with my Pastor's wife, Pam Marshall and the Evangelist's wife Karen Hightower. We are going to stock our pantries for the Thanksgiving and Christmas baking.
This is my all time favorite kind of day!!! I buy all my baking needs at the H&M Amish Store. We will of course eat at the Mennonite Buffet and have the best food in whole wide world~my mouth is already watering. I just had a piece of toast for breakfast because you never want to go to the Gingerich's Restaurant unless you are starving. My family tease me so because I can actually dream about this meal all the time. It is so good. I wish you could all come and go with me.   I love stepping back in time~I just may never come back to this to fast pace way of life we live. I just hope if I choose to stay ~My Brian will come and join me!

You can have a peek at Jamesport~Amish Country here.
