Coming Of Age~

Happy November

Ephesians 4:14-15

 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

When a momma eagle builds her nest ~she begins with branches, sharp rocks and a number of other things that seem unsuitable for a baby eagle to be born. The momma lines the nest with prickly items and then she adds feathers, wool and fur. She cushions it so that it is a soft place for her babies. One day the momma feels her little babies have grown past needing to be in the nest~ so she begins stirring up the nest. She begins peeling away the soft feathers exposing the sharp rocks and branches. The momma is trying to encourage the young eagles to leave the uncomfortable home and move on to maturity.

Coming of age is not easy for eagles or human beings. It sure isn't easy for mommas either. All of my children are very independent~ and seem ready to spread their wings and fly. Guessing I did something right.

My Hannah has been bottle feeding our orphaned kitties. She left yesterday for a trip and left me in charge of her new little babies. She already has them very spoiled. They should be eating from a bowl but they won't. They want to be bottle fed. So I take the bowl away and and give them their bottle. But as a momma I know that they need to get off the bottle ~easier said then done.

God is our Heavenly Father and He knows when we are equipped and ready to leave the nest and fly into adventures untold.

Apostle Paul urges us to grow up in Christ because we should no longer be children tossed to and fro but grow up in all things into Him who is the Head. What are you doing today to grow in your Christian walk?
