A Sad Day At Farming On Faith

3/15/09~ 5/14/12

Sometimes chickens just get sick. Layla has been acting funny for several weeks~ she had been coughing but appeared to be getting better. This morning when I let the girls out Layla had passed away in the night. She was my prettiest girl of the entire flock. She liked to follow Brian around in the yard for she knew he would be digging, planting or moving dirt and he would reward her with worms. We will truly miss her.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! I know how upsetting it is to lose a chicken especially one that was extra friendly. I know she had a good life!

I'm sorry, Carrie, you lost Layla. It sounds like she had a good life with you. She was very pretty from the photos I see.

So sorry, Carrie! ;( I lost my Rosie hen a couple weeks ago.. the first loss out of my 17 babies from May 2010. They are wonderful creatures in so many ways.. and they provide us with the bounty of eggs. I understand the sadness completely! Hugs, Tammy
