Hi Carrie,
I just giggled when I read this post! I, TOO, have NEVER made one! They are in my top 5 favs of pies! But I'm always intimidated by MERINGUE! So, that being have given me confidence to give it a try! HA! I didn't even know you BAKE the pie with the meringue! My grandma was such a pie maker and she just "Did It" by memory! I remember sitting on the counter watching her. When she passed away, I wanted her "pinch salt" bowl which she would just reach in and grab pinches of salt to add to everything. She never measured anything! So that is a special goodie I have by my stove.
Hoping you are loving your summer HOT HOT days! We are just burning up here south of you. We need our pools! Let's keep working on our hubbys! HA!
Big hugs,
