This Is Just A Season~

If you're like me, you've struggled a time or two with the seasons in life.

 This beautiful daughter of mine asked me yesterday if there is ever a time in life when all is peaceful and quiet with nothing to worry about? You know ~a time when there is nothing on the horizon to rob you of your joy or cause you sleepless nights. I had to tell her that those times are far and few in between. Yet, as a believer, we can seek peace in the midst of the storm and calm in the middle of chaos.

We know the verses in Ecclesiastes that gives us the wise old advice that everything in life has its season. I am hearing the song as it  echoes in my mind. " To everything, turn, turn, turn, there is a season  turn, turn, turn. And a time to every purpose under Heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant~ a time to reap. A time to kill a time ~a time to heal. A time to laugh~ a time to weep."   NO matter how true it may be when the hard times come they knock us to our knees and suck the life right out of our being.

We all have those seasons where the wind is crashing at our doors. The storm clouds have gathered once again on the horizon. People who want to kill and destroy are shouting your name. I like calm, peace, and quiet but that is not where we are right now. Out of nowhere, we have been thrown in a season of standing in the midst of hardship, letting our light shine in the darkness and trying our best to walk the path God has given us to walk in the face of adversity.

When life brings us challenging circumstances we just have to wisely discern what response we will choose. We can fall down at the feet of Jesus and let Him carry our burdens and fight our battles. We only have to stay at the foot of the cross.

I love what Ann Voskamp tweeted this morning~
Where there's hatred, be hope
Where there are differences, start dialogue
Where there's breath, live love. -ANN VOSKAMP

May we all choose to live love today instead of hate!

Ecclesiastes 3

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Words of wisdom you shared with your daughter, and us. God promised that we would have trouble. And boy was He right. Trouble seems to be around every corner. Just when you think everything is going smoothly, BAM, the enemy charges in and tries to wreak havoc. But thank God HE HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD. And for those who know Him and trust Him, there is peace, even when you can't imagine how you can make it one more day, He wraps loving arms around us and says "don't worry, just trust Me." I am so thankful for His goodness and His mercy. I am still praying for your situation my friend and I know you are still praying for mine. And we will walk through these storms because He goes before us! Love you sweet Carrie!
