The Good Things In Life Don't Come Easy

Orphan Annie~ renewing her mind.

A couple of years ago I had a health scare~ the C word. I set some boundaries in life to take better care of myself. You know~ like exercise, clean eating, kicking my chocolate and Diet Coke addiction. I can get thrown for a loop and so easily and I fall off the wagon.  I drown my sorrows in a chocolate bar and an Icy Diet Coke. The chocolate ~ I just can't control.  (Keeping it real.)The  Diet Coke is just bad for me  but oh, I love it so! This week has been full of troubles and yesterday I gave in and drank my poison of choice. I didn't just have my one a week that I allow myself~ nope, I drank it all day.  Now if you drink Diet Coke ~ I am not judging but for me, it is really bad and today I am paying for my binge.

I feel so much better when I stick to my boundaries . I really want to grab another Diet Coke as I am typing this even though I feel yucky this morning. That is just crazy!  If I want to feel good I need to renew my mind and get back on my healthy wagon that I fell off of yesterday. The good things in life don't come easy.

I not only need to renew my mind with my physical body but so much more my spiritual body.  When we take the time each day to renew our minds we get all this world's ideas and philosophies off us. Renewing our mind brings sweet, sweet fellowship with our Creator. He gives us a breather from life's difficulties and a fresh look at life from His perspective.

Somedays I get it right and some days not so much. I am thankful that the Lord's mercies are new  each and every day and that He never fails even when I may. I am thankful for a little extra mercy and grace too!

Romans 12:1-2King James Version (KJV)

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
